There, I said it. From what I can tell from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the NSX wouldn’t really be cracking the Germans open right out of the gate, but it will wipe the floor on the other cars below.
The NSX needs to be trained to reach its full potential. I do, however, think the NSX is a good Padawan.

I think it may be the new 3 or . Dunno why, I just have a feeling.

personally, having 0 first hand experience, it would only be above the GT-R.

I agree. You can pull my jalop card (if I’ve even got one), but I’ve never thought that the NSX was going to be anything but a mid/backfield player in this group.

In my opinion this bracket is the sweet spot for cars that are cool and potentially attainable.
Also, I think the Macca is unfair to group in here based on cost. And if Harris is to be believed, it may be the real #1.

What is this based off of? I’d put money on the Viper and GTR being faster. Plus the Maser, Aston and the F-type seem to be more about fun than outright speed. Something Acura doesn't seem great at.

With how long it’s taken I don’t have any reason to believe it won’t be good, but I figure a couple of years after release we’ll see a Type-R version (or, Type-S label used for hot Acuras) that will actually represent the best they can do.
I feel like any small measured differences won’t really have a tremendous impact with how it feels on the road. I just hope that they paid attention to smaller details, like switchgear/trim on the NSX being unique and not borrowed from lesser Hondas.

Not really. I wouldn’t wager on the F-Type R being that much higher than the New NSX despite the gestation period of the latter.

This.
If you think about it, the NSX is a class all of its own, its competition being itself. Sure, there’s the i8, and there’s the subject of whether or not the New NSX is worthy of the badge, but still.

Honestly, reading the AutoCar first impressions, it sounds underwhelming. Sure, in the hands a tame racing driver, it is going to be wicked fast around a track. Anything with 570 horsepower, AWD, and Pilot Cup 2s is going to be crazy fast. But the author makes it seem like everything is merely on-par/adequate when compared to the competition. I think Honda introduced the car too early and took too long to develop it. The competition has grown in numbers, speed, and tech since the NSX was shown as a concept back in like 1983 (2008?) and it seems like the production car isn’t going to be the world beater they thought.
Or maybe it’s just a louder exhaust away from perfection?

The GT-R and Maserati are showing their age now.

That is one weird selection of cars. They don’t match up on performance or price. Plus where is the Corvette?

I don’t really care for C+D’s rankings, nor their site’s use of flash and constantly crashing/bugging.

Don’t forget the Aston. If I was shown that picture alone, I’d probably guess 2004 or so.

Like I said way up, it’s more of a Padawan. The Force is strong with the NSX, but it needs extra training from a Jedi Knight.

An automotive Jedi Knight, none of whom work for Honda anymore :(

I agree with your prediction, but that's not where I'd personally put it. I would personally put it 3rd behind the i8 (which is for some reason not included) and 911, but ahead of the R8 and AMG GT.

I’m not to sure it will beat the GTR. Its the kind of car that seems to break physics.

It still is a truly competitive machine, but holy shit that car needs a refresh and a lowering of everything. Like, this low.
